Zinc is the fourth most widely used metal and nearly half of the zinc produced is utilised in galvanizing. The galvanizing process is one of the most commonly used forms of corrosion protection used throughout the world and the quality of surface preparation, application and any over coating is critical to its long term performance.
To assist in a greater understanding of the process and standards used, the Hot – Dip Galvanizing Inspection course has been developed by leading corrosion and coatings experts. The course covers all the aspects of corrosion control with the use of molten zinc.
The distance learning course can be completed by Engineers, architects and students who wish to learn about corrosion control using Hot-Dip Galvanizing. Once complete they will achieve accreditation through the certification program. Hot Dip Galvanizing certified Inspector have demonstrated the competence to:

  • Basic corrosion;
  • Introduction to hot-dip galvanizing;
  • Hot-dip galvanizing process;
  • Pre-surface preparation and inspection;
  • Appearance;
  • Painting hot-dip galvanizing;
  • Standards and guides;
  • Quality assurance;
  • Quality control;
  • Health and Safety;
  • Pre-surface preparation and inspection.Inspectors duties and maintaining hot-dip galvanizing structures.
  • Certificate Achieved: Hot Dip Galvanizing Inspector Certificate.
  • Pre-Requisites: A recognized Coating Inspection Certificate at any level.
  • Teaching Methods: 100% online training with online multi choice assessments. (Classroom courses are available on request. Go to corrodere.com for further information).
  • Course Duration: 8 hours of online training. 12 months’ access to the training material will be provided allowing for flexible study.
  • Assessment: A 3 hour multiple choice final assessment must be attended to achieve the recognised Hot Dip Galvanizing Inspection Certificate.
  • Marking Structure:
    ON Line All online multi choice questions must be completed and passed with 100% before attending the final exam.
    Final Assessment A minimum of 70% must be achieved to pass the multi choice final exam.
  • Resitting Exams: Resit your exam within 12 months of receipt of result and receive 1 year’s access to the training material.
  • Certification: All successful candidates will receive the Hot Dip Galvanizing Inspection Certificate within 21 days of passing the final exam. This Certificate is valid for 5 years from the date of passing the exam.
  • Recertification: Apply for recertification after five years, submit an up-todate CV and complete an online refresher course for a new 5 year card to be issued.
  • Payment: Payment of course fees are required upon application.
    Fees are refunded in full should an application be declined, or the student cancels the course within 14 days of registering.
